Dr. Christopher, a naturopath and herbalist of the 19th century, combined these herbs to make a soak for one of his clients. Since then this well-loved combination of herbs has been used to help support healthy bones, ligaments, tendons, muscles, and other connective tissues.
White Oak bark, Comfrey root, Marshmallow root, Mullein leaf, Black Walnut hull, Gravel Root root, Wormwood herb, Slippery Elm bark, Skullcap herb, Lobelia herb.
Directions: Put 1 cup of the dried herbs in 2 quarts of cold water. Heat until boiling, reduce heat and simmer 20 minutes. Steep (let it sit) for 20-60 minutes. Then strain through a sieve or cloth. Add hot or cold water to bring temperature to pleasantly hot for soaking. If there is no infection in the area, the soak can be reused a number of times. Keep refrigerated between uses, reheat to use, and do not keep more than 2 days. Alternate hot tea soak with a shorter cold water soak for best results.
